Hidden Creek has 8 tips for you that are really going to make a difference come the wedding day. We know there are a lot of tabs to keep count of, so we are here to help you prioritize on your wedding day. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions or want to schedule a tour of our beautiful venue!
Make Sure That You Eat
There are probably a million things running through your head during this big day, but you definitely don’t want to forget to eat. Get a quick snack or some fast food. It doesn’t matter what you eat, as long as you eat. Your dinner might feel rushed because your guests are going to want to talk to you and celebrate you. And no one wants to drink on an empty stomach. So, bring food to the bridal and groom suites and eat that morning!
Drink Water
Make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day, especially if you are getting married during the hot months. You don’t want to pass out on your wedding day. A couple of mimosas with your bridesmaids as you get ready is always a fun time, but make sure to drink plenty of water as well. This goes for the groom as well. It can become easy to lose count of the beer when you’re having a good time with the groomsmen, but remember to drink water too.
Plan for Extra Getting Ready Time
We all know that getting dressed and dolled up for a wedding takes time, but a lot of us underestimate how much time it actually takes. Make sure to leave at least an extra half hour to an hour of buffer time before the ceremony. You don’t want to be late for your own wedding and make your guests wait too long either. Plan for extra time! If you finish getting ready earlier than you planned to, there is no harm to that. You have extra time to take more pictures, hang out with your bridesmaids, and relax right before the ceremony.
Create a Fun Playlist for the Bridal Suites
This is a great task to give to one of your bridesmaids and groomsmen. Tell them what kind of vibe you want the room to portray while you are getting ready. They most likely know what you like to listen to at this point in your friendship anyway. No one wants to sit in silence while they are getting their hair and makeup done. Turn up the volume and celebrate…you’re getting married!
Look at the Venue Fully Decorated
If you have that extra buffer time before the ceremony, use that as an opportunity to take a glance at the decorated venue. Take a moment to take it all in, your vision comes to life. This also gives you an opportunity to make last-minute adjustments, such as requesting a centerpiece to be moved. Our Hidden Creek crew has you covered– we are here to help with last-minute tweaks!
Have an Emergency Kit
Hidden Creek highly recommends bringing an emergency kit. You should have some extra powder, some safety pins, lipstick, bobby pins, stain-removing wipes, tampons, hair ties, hairspray, etc. Pinterest has some great ideas for what to include in these kits. We can guarantee that there will be at least one thing that you will need from the kit throughout the day, so make sure to bring one!
Relax and Have Fun!
Our last tip is to not fret– enjoy your day! This day is to celebrate your love and unity, so relax and have fun! Don’t stress about the little things. They won’t make a difference. A lot of planning did go into this big day, but at the end of the day, it is about the two of you and your marriage. So, make sure that you relax and take it all in.
